When more than 500 organisations come together to improve Blackpool – then you know they mean business.
The resort’s Business Improvement District, or Blackpool BID, is just that – a partnership between more than 500 of Blackpool’s town centre businesses and organisations working together to improve business, and the environment, for the benefit of all.
And they are putting their own money into the initiative.
The BID is funded by a levy based on a business’s property rating and after two successful terms adding up to a ten year period, in September 2015, businesses within the BID area voted to continue this funding for another five-year period.Another clear indicator of their continued investment in the scheme and in the future of the town.
Eileen Ormand has been the Town Centre and Blackpool BID manager since March 2009 and has worked with the BID since its inception. Her task is to work in partnership with Blackpool Council, and all local organisations, co-ordinating new and existing projects to deliver solutions that are right for Blackpool’s town centre businesses, and – most importantly of all – for YOU, their customers.
